North Sea Wildlife Officer starts in one month

Now entering it's twelfth year, ORCA's partnership with DFDS will continue to engage thousands of passengers aboard KING Seaways crossing from Newcastle to Ijmuiden.

ORCA's Wildlife Officer programme in the North Sea will be kicking off for 2018 in just one month, marking the twelfth edition of the long running programme.

Working in partnership with DFDS, ORCA will once again have Wildlife Officers on board KING Seaways in 2018 on the route from Newcastle to Ijmuiden in the Netherlands.

During voyages, passengers will have the chance to take part in deck watches, listen to lectures and learn loads about the wonderful wildlife in this part of the world, with the chance to spot an array of species from the deck of the ship.

Last year was a record breaking year with tens of thousands of passengers visiting the ORCA Wildlife Centre to hear more about our work, and they even saw a record number of animals including white beaked dolphins, minke whales and harbour porpoises.

ORCA's team will be on board from late March to late September and will have a permanent presence on every crossing during that period. If you are crossing the North Sea on KING Seaways this summer, make sure to stop by the ORCA Wildlife Centre to say hello!
