Celebrating citizen science work in Scotland

The CalMac Marine Awareness Programme launch event will take place in Oan later this month, with ORCA amongst the organisations paticipating.

An award-winning citizen science programme will be hosting an official launch event on 27th March, with ORCA amongst the organisations participating in a groundbreaking collaborative project.

The CalMac Marine Awareness Programme brings together companies and organisations working in the west of Scotland to help raise awareness of the marine environment and help protect the sensational habitats in the area.

Lead by CalMac Ferries, the collaboration includes NGOs, businesses and statutory agencies who work in the Hebrides, with ORCA proud to be contributing through our brand new survey routes launching in 2018.

The programme launch will be taking place at the Scottish Marine Institute in Oban from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday 27th March 2018, and will include wine & nibbles as well as presentations from some of the organisations involved in the project.

ORCA members, supporters and volunteers are encouraged to attend, so if you are interested please send an RSVP to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
