How we are inspiring the next generation about the wonderful world of whales and dolphins!
Since the beginning of the Autumn term in September, our Community Wildlife Officer, Lauren Peach, has been busy travelling all over East Sussex, West Sussex and Hampshire to inspire KS2 and KS3 students about whales and dolphins and the wider marine environment.
Through this project, we have already engaged with over 4,000 students, with visits lined up until the end of January. Students have come face-to-face with a life-sized bottlenose dolphin model, they’ve handed around huge sperm whale teeth and seen the difference in shape between porpoise and dolphin teeth. Students also discuss the threats to these incredible animals face and the changes we can make in our every lives to help protect the ocean.
We would like to say a huge thank you to players of the People’s Postcode Lottery for enabling us to inspire thousands of students about wonderful whales and dolphins.
